Since the Europa Cup event in Hyeres, I've been training hard with the Polish National team. I spent just under two weeks in Lake Garda where I got some very good big wind practice in, and also had the opportunity to do an incredibly picturesque 5 hour descent on my mountain bike. Though it was cold, I found that since lining up again the same boats last year I've made some speed gains upwind, which was encouraging to see.
After Lake Garda, I had a nice week long break, where I managed to return to my ancestral home in Olsztyn, Poland and spend some time with my Grandma. It was great to recover a little and clear my head, as well as to have some time to focus specifically on my strength training in the gym! A solid couple of days of rest (and strength training) later, I made my way back to Gdansk to participate in another unreasonably cold training camp. Though the practices we had over this week and a half in Gdansk were productive, an unusual cold front settled over the region, with temperatures plummeting down to the mid to low 30's and even a few snowy mornings! Thankfully the weather is warming up now as I get ready for a two regatta stretch, with one event here in Poland and one in the Netherlands, before I head home!
On a different note, I am putting together a few fundraising events this summer, and will be sending out invitations and publishing information about that shortly!
